Serene beauty in Remote Laos

Upon arrival, your guide will take you to your city hotel in Vientiane, the tranquil capital of Laos on the Mekong River. Later, visit the captivating Buddha Park and Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Mekong River banks and browse the night market before staying overnight at your accommodation in Vientiane. After breakfast, we'll start a city sightseeing tour. Then, at 12:00, you'll be transferred to Vientiane Airport for your flight to Xieng Khuang. Upon arrival, you'll be taken to your hotel in Xieng Khuang, also known as "Phonsavan," the gateway to the Plain of Jars. After checking in, you'll join a city tour, visiting the MAG Center, a humanitarian organization dedicated to clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of local communities worldwide. After breakfast, we'll visit the Plain of Jars, an ancient site with 2500-year-old stone jars at three main sites. On the way back, we'll see bomb craters and must stick to marked trails due to the presence of bombs, UXO, and landmines. In the afternoon, we'll take a half-day trip to Muang Khoun to see a giant Buddha and ancient pagodas in ruins, before returning to Xieng Khouang for the night. After breakfast, depart at 7:30 AM for a 6-7 hour journey to Sam Neua. Enjoy the scenic drive and observe local village life. If time allows, visit a weaving village and the Sa Luea village waterfall. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and take a stroll through the Nam Sam River Promenade. Visit Wat Phoxay Sanlam, famous for its 1565 Buddha statue, and explore the local market offering textiles, clothing, and traditional foods. Overnight at Sam Neua accommodation.

Have breakfast at the café, then depart for Vieng Xay at 8:30 AM, just an hour's drive away. Explore the town and its caves, which served as shelters for locals and leaders during the Vietnam/American War. Over 20,000 people lived in a 'hidden city' within the limestone peaks in the 1960s, using the caves for various purposes. 7:00 AM. Begin your day with a morning meal at the café before setting off to Nam Et-Phou Louey NPA for the night safari. In the morning, spot a Sambar Deer across the river from the camp before taking a jungle walk with a local guide to learn about medicinal plants and the area's history. After breakfast, relax with a boat ride back to the village, spotting birds along the way. Then, taste earthen jar rice wine and fill out a wildlife monitoring form before leaving. This morning, we'll visit the morning market in Muang Hiam and have breakfast at a local café. Then, we'll travel for 4-5 hours to Nong Kiaw, stopping at villages of the Thai Dam and Kamou ethnic minorities to observe their weaving skills. Upon arrival, check in at local accommodation by the Nam Ou River and spend the rest of the day relaxing, enjoying the sunset over the river from your balcony. Overnight at Nong Kiaw accommodation.

After breakfast, we'll start a cruise up the Nam Ou River, providing breathtaking views of the karst mountains along the riverbanks. Our activities today include visiting villages like Ban Sop Cham, known for its traditional weaving. Then, we'll return by boat to Muang Ngoi (Old Administration) , where you can explore the area by local vehicle (Tor Tor) before returning to Nongkhiaw in the late afternoon. After breakfast, take in the peaceful morning in Nong Khiaw. At 9:00 AM, head to the Viewpoint for breathtaking scenery. Next, enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Pak Ou Village, where you'll explore the Pak Ou Caves by boat. Continue the journey along the Mekong River to reach Luang Prabang in the afternoon. 8:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before a guided tour of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the old Royal Palace, now the National Museum, explore Heun Chan, a typical Luang Prabang wooden house, and the revered Wat Xieng Thong temple.
